Cold Email Outreach

Step 1: Define ICP (Ideal Customer Profile)

Define your ideal customer persona based on:
A . Industry
B . Job Titles / Role
C . Location
D . Seniority Level
E . Company Size
F . Years of Experience
G . Keywords / Interests, etc.

Step 2: Build Your Email List

There are two ways to build your email list for cold campaigns: 1 . Buying the list
2 . Scraping the list
You should avoid buying an email list, always build yours. One of the popular ways to build email lists is LinkedIn scraping.
Search and scrape your ideal customers on LinkedIn Sales Navigator. Sales Navigator offers powerful filters that will help you download a targeted email list.

Step 3: Email Verification

It is important to make sure all your emails are verified to avoid bounces. Email providers like Gmail ban accounts or push emails to spam if your bounce rate is high.
Bounce = spammer. So make sure all your emails are verified. Recommended Tool: Try using two email validation tools to validate your email list. Example, ZeroBounce, NeverBounce, etc.

Step 4: Email Infrastructure

Here’s the technical setup required for cold emailing:
  • Buying a new domain or create a subdomain (never use primary domain); redirect the new domain or subdomain to the primary domain
  • Use a paid email provider if possible for best deliverability
  • To avoid junk / spam folder, setup SPF, DKIM & DMARC email records for your domain
  • Setup email warmup
Warmup for at least 2-3 weeks
During this time you can work on scraping and verifying the email list
  • Setup email campaigns
Prefer quality over quantity — start with 10-30 emails per week Gradually increase up to sending 50 emails per day per email account Have a continuous amount of emails sent daily (avoid batch and blast) Scale horizontally instead of vertically
  • Check your deliverality and improve based on suggestions on GlockApps. Use Postmasters Tools by Gmail to learn from Gmail delivery errors, spam reports, feedback loop, and more.
